NÄR: Aktionen börjar 17 augusti och håller på minst 5 dagar. Tanken är att mindre koordinerade aktioner ska pågå ända fram till valet efteråt om viljan finns.
HUR: Aktionen kommer centrera kring att skapa disruption i form av vägblockader. Blockaderna upphör om regeringen går med på det omedelbara kravet att stoppa alla fossila subventioner. Syftet med vägblockaderna är att skapa ett politiskt tryck och att protestera på ett sätt som är omöjligt att ignorera för makthavare och allmänhet. Att störa trafiken bidrar till att uppnå det syftet. För att en sådan här strategi ska fungera behöver vi vara många. Vi som organiserar kan dock inte styra hur många det blir, det är upp till er som delar en oro över klimatets tillstånd att ta steget att dyka upp. Vårt mål är att minst 500 anmäler sig. VARFÖR: Vi är i ett klimatnödläge och gapet mellan vad vi måste göra och vad vi gör är enormt. Det räcker inte längre med att vi medborgare personligen ställer om eller sopsorterar. Vi måste agera kollektivt. Det är politikerna som har ansvaret i detta – omställningen kommer inte ske om inte regeringar världen över, inklusive vår, tar de nödvändiga politiska besluten. Klimatrörelsen har protesterat och agiterat i årtioenden nu, utan att förändring skett i den omfattning som behövs. Därför eskalerar kampen till störande, icke-våldslig civil olydnad.
DET ÄR NU DET GÄLLER
Vi står inför en eskalerande klimatkris, mänsklighetens största samhällshot, och våra makthavare gör fortfarande inte sitt jobb i att ställa om samhället och minska utsläppen. Tvärtom gasar de på mot stupet.Vi accepterar inte detta och vi kommer göra allt i vår makt för att förhindra klimatkollapsen. Vi måste nu säga ifrån på allvar – det är dags för massivt civilt motstånd.
TRE ÅR KVAR
FN säger att vi måste nå en utsläppstopp inom tre år om vi ska kunna klara Parisavtalet. Och det ger oss ändå bara en 50% chans att vara i linje med 1,5-gradersmålet, vilket är ett helt oacceptabelt risktagande. Nationellt i Sverige behöver vi minska utsläppen med 20% redan i år. Vi kräver att Sverige nu tar det ansvar som behövs för att framtidssäkra samhället, och vidtar de drastiska åtgärder som är nödvändiga för att nå nettonoll utsläpp till 2025, inklusive ett omedelbart stopp för alla fossila subventioner.

WHAT: Civil disobedience action for the climate!
WHERE: Central Stockholm. Exact locations will be shared later.
WHEN: The action begins Aug. 17 and lasts for at least 5 days. After that, smaller coordinated actions might occur up until the election if there is enough engagement.
HOW: The action will center around creating disruption in the form of road blockades. The blockades will end if the government agrees to the immediate demand to stop all fossil fuel subsidies. The purpose of the road blockades is to create a political pressure and protest in a way that is impossible for the elite and the public to ignore. Disrupting traffic contributes to achieving that aim. For a strategy like this to work, we need to be many. However, we as organizers cannot control how many participants we get, it is up to people who care to take the step to show up. Our goal is for at least 500 to sign up. WHY: We are in a climate emergency and the gap between what we have to do and what we actually do is huge. It is no longer enough for us as citizens to change our personal behaviors or recycle. We must act collectively. Our current road block is political – the green transition will not happen unless governments around the world, including ours, take the necessary political action. The climate movement has been protesting and agitating for decades now, without change taking place to the extent needed. Therefore, the struggle escalates into disruptive, non-violent civil disobedience.
NOW OR NEVER
We are facing an escalating climate crisis, humanity’s greatest threat to society, yet those in power are still not doing their job in restructuring society and reducing emissions. On the contrary, they are racing us toward the edge of a cliff.We do not accept this and we will do everything in our power to avoid the climate collapse. We must speak up now – it is time for massive civil resistance.
THREE YEARS LEFT
The UN has shown that the world’s emissions must reach a peak within three years if we are to have a chance of meeting the Paris Agreement. This still gives us only a 50% chance of being in line with the 1.5 degree goal, which is an unacceptable risk. Nationally in Sweden, we need to reduce emissions by 20% already this year.We demand that Sweden take the responsibility needed to secure the future of society, and take the drastic measures necessary to achieve net zero emissions by 2025, including an immediate halt to all fossil subsidies.
